Cindy,
We have both of those books, but I wasn't sure they were ready. How did it go? What were you able to discuss and what did you put on hold? Thoughts? I loved when you said you will not live in condemnation nor will you example that for your daughter. Good, powerful words.

Powerful, Cymba. That's why you're a leader at Vista...because you're leading at Vista. Your daughter (as well as your entire family) is deeply blessed to have you...

Cindy, you are a good example of a Christian who really believes what God says in His Word! If we truly believe that God forgives us and that He does not condemn us for sins that we have repented of and asked His forgiveness for, then there truly is no shame. This quality in your life may have a greater impact on your kids than you'll ever be able to measure. So let them know, as you see appropriate, how you practically apply God's promises to your life!

On another note, having had only boys in my family, the Princess and the Kiss just doesn't cut it for me. I am looking for (and maybe just need to sit down and write) a book entitled, "Jesus Made Arrow Swishing Noises with His Mouth" or "Pinning Frogs Down with the Lord" or "Appreciating Creation by Eating Live Ants" or something to that effect. On second thought, we do have a grand-daughter now, so maybe I do need to check out the Princess and the Kiss. Nawww...I'll get my wife to do that!

Thanks so much for sharing your life and heart with us, Cindy! I've really been enjoying reading your posts, and it's been great fuel for thought, prayer, and discussions with Ben. I look forward to more. . .

I am so thankful that I have God to guide me as difficult conversations arise with my boys. I often feel inadequate to be the one giving them guidance. I am so thankful that I can lean on Eph. 3:20 and know that God's word is at work in their little hearts. (Praying for you as you walk through this study together!)

I guess I'll start praying now about the future of my possible daughter. God help me if/when I have to have these conversations with my children.
